Large Hedge Removal & Reduction – Nana Glen

Large hedge removals and reductions are rarely considered glamorous work, and they are not typically a favourite among arborists. However, with the right equipment, planning, and an experienced crew, these projects can be completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.

At this Nana Glen property, our team was engaged to reduce a 70-metre mature cypress hedge shortly after the client had purchased the site. The work zone presented several constraints, including nearby buildings and overhead service lines, requiring careful planning and controlled dismantling techniques.

Using appropriate access equipment and a coordinated crew approach, the entire scope of works was completed within a single day (approximately 8 hours). This included hedge reduction, processing of all material, on-site chipping, and a thorough clean-up of the work area.

The outcome was a clean, damage-free site delivered without delays.

Prior to engaging Thrive Arbor, the client had accepted an alternative quote but experienced delays and lack of follow-through. We were able to mobilise within a week and complete the works promptly, allowing the client to continue progressing other improvements on their new property.

Outcome:

  • 70m mature cypress hedge reduced

  • Constrained site managed (buildings and overhead wires)

  • All material processed and removed on the day

  • Site left clean and ready for use

  • Project completed in a single visit
